Innovation

Ever since the founding of the company in 1881, innovation has been pivotal at Nooteboom. Ground-breaking innovations ensure that Nooteboom Trailers leads the way in the market of abnormal road transport. From the first ground-breaking innovation in 1953 with the low-loader with swivel pendle axles up to the development in 2015 of the revolutionary and international award-winning MANOOVR technology, applied on a semi low-loader with an ultra-low floor height on pendle axles and with a high axle load.

The design philosophy Nooteboom has used during all those years remains the same today: their products must be simple and intuitive to operate, have to be robust and reliable and ultimately ensure the total cost of ownership is as low as possible. Innovation does not just play an important part in the product design.

Advanced software enables the company to build configurable, customer-specific 3D-models. This makes the design process much more efficient. When it comes to process innovation plenty is happening too. For instance, a new paint shop was built recently, taking a significant step forward with regard to metal conservation and making improvements in quality, efficiency and working conditions. We also frequently opt for co-development with customers, learning/ training institutes and other parties within the chain. This enables us to find specific solutions for special customer requirements. Ultimately the innovative potential and knowledge comes from the people themselves.

80-tonne ramps for Manoovr with excavator trough - Nooteboom has developed special ‘Heavy Duty’ ramps to load heavy machines, weighing up to 80 tonnes, onto the load floor. Each of these ramps separately can take a wheel load of 20 tonnes.
2019

Nooteboom introduces the newest and largest low-loader in its history. With the development of the 4-axle lines IC Interdolly Compact, Nooteboom is introducing the largest low-loader combination with more than 100 tonnes of payload at 80 km / h. This largest EURO-PX low-loader has a total of 10 swing axle lines and is fully optimized for German regulations.
2019

Nooteboom Academy is founded in collaboration with training center V-TAS. The education, training and courses of the Nooteboom Academy are especially for everyone working in special transport, and now comprise 13 one- and multi-day, mainly practice-oriented courses.
2020

The first Nooteboom LONGRUNNER, the latest generation of lightweight extendable flatbed trailers, is entering European roads. The Longrunner, with all axles hydraulically steered, offers excellent maneuverability due to its very large steering angle of over 50 degrees and offers a payload of up to 42.5 tonnes at 80km / h.
2021

The SMART program is expanded with the new extendable lightweight semi low-loader with wheel wells, type OSDS-48-03V (EBW). This multifunctional 3-axle semi low-loader with trailing steered axle has a payload of up to 39 tonnes at 80 km / h. Thanks to the deep wheel wells, this semi low-loader can now also transport larger types of wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks up to 39 tonnes, where previously this was only possible with a low-loader.
