Since hardwood is getting scarcer and more expensive all the time, Nooteboom is looking for alternatives for the production of their trailer floors. An important starting point was that the alternative had to be equally as good as the current floors but preferably it would have even better specifications for application in abnormal transport. From this investigation bamboo composite emerged as the best alternative. In the meantime Nooteboom has been testing it in practice for nearly two years with extremely positive results.

New MANOOVR 3+7 with Multidolly

The introduction of the Manoovr MPL semi low-loader in October 2015 was extremely successful. In just a few months more than 250 axle lines have been sold and delivered, accross many countries in Europe. The advantages of the Manoovr are an extremely low load floor of 780mm, the high legal axle load of 12 tonnes/axle line, the generous suspension travel of 500mm, a tyre life that will last for at least 300.000 km and the favourable ‘total cost of ownership’.

West of Scotland heavy Haulage adds MANOOVR to its fleet

UK transport specialists West of Scotland Heavy Haulage has taken delivery of Nootebooms’ latest semi lowloader ‘the Manoovr’ as well as two Mercedes-Benz Arocs tractor units. The Manoovr (type MPL-114-07) is the first of its kind in Scotland and has a 100-tonne capacity. It features an adjustable platform height. In the lowest position the deck height is only 780mm and can be raised – for maximum ground clearance – up to 1280mm. Further unique features are the unique suspension and the extreme manoeuvrability up to a maximum of 70 degree steering angle. The pendulum axles allow a load of 12 tonnes per axle and a bed that can be extended from 12 to 30.35 metres.
